I was lucky. I grew up like this. Every year from May to October, I spent every day barefoot. From playing on grass in the back yard, to walking to the store over hot pavement, it was amazing. Even my Halloween costumes were barefoot characters every year: mummy, zombie, pirate, caveman, etc. I loved my barefoot boyhood.
